The International University of Cuanza (UNIC) published today the online version of the Women’s Intimate Health Manual, the result of a collaborative work between the University Extension with the Social Action Area of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), the Erasmus+ CLINICALSIM project and the UNIC Student Association.
The publication aims to offer guidelines for intimate health care, with explanations about hygiene and care for the woman’s own body.
Many Angolan women and girls have suffered from shortages of intimate hygiene supplies, as they are sometimes considered minor issues in relation to the priorities of a family income.
This situation has an impact on the lives of many women, who may still lack information for proper health care education.
In this sense, with the aim of complying with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and seeking interfaces with the Erasmus+ CLINICALSIM project, the International University of Cuanza, through a partnership between the Extension Area and collaborating entities, considered it relevant to organize activities around women’s intimate health, in the campaign “Healthy Women’s March: Empowering everyone, building equality”.
Women’s Intimate Health Handbook
Among the planned activities, the Women’s Intimate Health Manual was elaborated, in collaboration with nursing professors from UNIC.
The campaign is scheduled for the entire month of March and will feature other activities to be announced soon. It is hoped that both the publication of the manual and all the events will give visibility to women’s rights and serve as a tool for education and health awareness, to provide information that helps in women’s self-care.
